Jean-Pierre Barral – Advanced Visceral Manipulation – Thorax
Jean-Pierre Barral – Advanced Visceral Manipulation – Thorax: In this advanced course, Jean-Pierre Barral, a pioneer in the field of visceral manipulation, focuses on the thorax and its associated organs. Participants will learn specialized techniques for assessing and treating dysfunctions within the thoracic cavity, including the heart, lungs, and surrounding structures. The course covers the intricate relationships between the thorax’s visceral and musculoskeletal systems, providing practitioners with hands-on skills to improve organ function, alleviate pain, and enhance overall health. Ideal for experienced manual therapists, this program deepens knowledge and proficiency in visceral manipulation with a focus on the thoracic region.
Visceral Manipulation is a manual therapy developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, DO, MRO(F) that assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive and lymphatic dysfunction. It evaluates and treats the dynamics of motion and suspension in relation to organs, membranes, fascia, and ligaments. VM increases proprioceptive communication within the body, thereby revitalizing a person and relieving symptoms of pain, dysfunction, and poor posture. This DVD shows detailed anatomical explanations and 13 Visceral Manipulation treatment demonstrations for working with the following organs in relation to the thorax:
The heart
The lungs
The bronchi
Health and Medical course More information about Medical: Medicine is the science and practice of establishing the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Medicine encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness. Contemporary medicine applies biomedical sciences, biomedical research, genetics, and medical technology to diagnose, treat, and prevent injury and disease, typically through pharmaceuticals or surgery, but also through therapies as diverse as psychotherapy, external splints and traction, medical devices, biologics, and ionizing radiation, amongst others. Medicine has been around for thousands of years, during most of which it was an art (an area of skill and knowledge) frequently having connections to the religious and philosophical beliefs of local culture. For example, a medicine man would apply herbs and say prayers for healing, or an ancient philosopher and physician would apply bloodletting according to the theories of humorism. In recent centuries, since the advent of modern science, most medicine has become a combination of art and science (both basic and applied, under the umbrella of medical science). While stitching technique for sutures is an art learned through practice, the knowledge of what happens at the cellular and molecular level in the tissues being stitched arises through science.
